We only publish price ranges with a named source, and those are still being checked. The quickest way to a real price is to ask local businesses for quotes.
Get quotesWho is allowed to install an EV charger in Malaysia?
- EV charger installers must be ST-registered Competent Persons / Contractors under the Electricity Supply Act 1990 (Act 447).
- Wall-box chargers must be approved and labelled by ST-SIRIM; Mode 1 (direct wall socket) charging is not allowed.
- The charger needs a dedicated, correctly sized circuit protected by a 30 mA RCD (Type A with DC detection, or Type B).
- Ask for the test report from the ST-registered contractor after installation.
- Single-phase supply supports loads up to 10 kW; upgrading to three-phase is processed and approved by TNB.
- Three-phase wiring work calls for a three-phase wireman (PW3/PW4); PW4 includes testing endorsement.

How it works on Dispatcher
- Pick the service and answer one quick question. It’s free.
- Local contractors who cover your area can see your request and may contact you.
- Pick one. The others are marked Not selected and can no longer see your details. If one can’t take it, we pass it to the next contractor in line (or ask you first, if you chose that).
- The job is scheduled and tracked. After the job we ask you for one honest review.
Questions about ev charging in Wangsa Maju
Can I install an EV charger myself?
No. TNB’s customer guide says only ST-registered competent persons or contractors should handle EV charger wiring and safety upgrades, and you should not DIY or change the TNB fuse.
Do I need three-phase power for a home EV charger?
Not usually. Single-phase supply supports loads up to 10 kW, which covers a 7 kW wall-box. Faster 11–22 kW AC chargers need three-phase, which TNB must approve.
Does Dispatcher verify contractors?
Not yet. Dispatcher has not checked any contractor’s licence, so no listing is verified. Licence checks are planned for later. Ask the contractor for their ST registration before you hire.
